This is not going to be my regular blog.

For the 3rd time in 4 weeks, we had to cancel church on account of the weather.

We cancelled the end of January, then had church and then cancelled the last 2 weeks. It is so frustrating.

I cannot control the weather, the temperature, precipitation from the heavens or anything else.

Maybe a few hardcore members would have attempted to drive, but the majority had already called me and let me know that they wouldn't be coming.

The bulletins are run, the message is ready, the kid's church is prepped, communion is in stock and the Love Feast Meal was purchased for lunch for 40.

But there is no church.

For me, personally, it literally hurts.

I don't get out much in winter due to my wheelchair accessibility. So in 4 weeks I have been outside exactly twice. I have cabin fever!!

A pastor who cannot visit with and tend to the sheep feels lost herself. She gets worried about the flock. Some will text me to let me know how things are. Others will stay silent until we meet again. I will text all the sheep to check on them -- many will respond with a thumbs up or down. Others will remain silent.

We need one another. We need to hear the Word. To discuss it and learn from it so that we can apply it individually and corporately.

We require fellowship to grow the community and learn to love one another.

We multiply our power in numbers as we worship together and pray together & for one another.

For some of us, church is the only family we have --- to share with, to care about and to be part of something bigger than ourselves. We find joy, hope and belonging as we heal from the past week of world saturation. We receive grace and healing together.

Finally, the church has to pay her bills and also fill the account so that we can help others in our local and foreign communities.

This week we will hear the message of Forgiveness together. I know some of you listened online. Most likely, many did not take the time. Regardless, we will share God's word together and come to His table for healing grace and mercy this Sunday. Then we will have a lovely Love Feast. Together.

So pray for me and each other... and the weather!

This Sunday will be like a celebration of Homecoming together!

Until then,

Marantha, y'all.

He will return. Stay ready!!!

Love your Pastor.

I agree a hundred and fifty percent that we all need fellowship together. I know being unable to get to church due to illness I miss being connected to human touch face to face. Pray I get there soon. I need to be in God's house with like minded people.

We need the fellowship of the body to help keep us on the path. Need to be able to see what the world is doing in real life. Food and communion is always a blessing

Yes, I agree completely with you . We need each other, in the flesh. I've been going to church for over 40 years and still feel the need to be with others of like precious faith. Looking forward to Sunday (and spring).
